At the other end of the spectrum, some people develop low blood sugar or hypoglycemia as a result. Hypoglycemic symptoms are not at all pleasant and may include clammy skin, weakness, heart palpitations, and sweating. If you have hypoglycemia, you would be best served by abstaining from coffee completely.

Despite a lack of formal study it is widely believed that caffeine increases the risks of high blood pressure. For people who drink too much coffee, anxiety or irritability is a common side effect. Resisting stress becomes difficult for some people after drinking coffee. In these cases people will feel anxious or stressed about things that do not ordinarily bother them. In this situation symptoms of stress might involve irregular heartbeats, increased heart rate, or even higher than usual blood pressure. Heavy coffee drinkers are especially likely to experience this.

Don't forget that even though there are good benefits for drinking coffee there are plenty of negative effects to remain cautious about. Limit your exposure to risk by consuming coffee in moderation. If you partake, only in moderation, you can benefit from the good health effects of coffee without facing the risks that drinking too much coffee poses.
